Where unseen music gets discovered

The distinct indie sounds of Vacancy and their latest “Girls_On_Drugs”

Apr 5, 2023 | Editors Pick, Indie Pop, Indie Rock

With a predictable yet flawless indie guitar intro, Vacancy brings us their distinct indie alt sounds with one of their latest singles titled “Girls_On_Drugs”. We can say that for the duration of the track, those smooth and slurry vocals keep us high for 2 minutes and 46 seconds. With lyrics such as “I can tell you want to lose control”, an irresistible melody, crunchy overdrive guitar tones, and perfectly pitched drums, we were compelled to check out Vacancy’s entire EP titled “Vacancy”, which included 5 tracks that were just as good or better than expected. Listeners know even though the song’s construction isn’t perfect, it’s purposefully and genuinely designed to give us the dynamics music of this generation lacks. Sluggish, sloppy, grungy, this indie alt song is one of the best in a long time. There is a lot to love about the vocals, and there is a lot to love about the raw representation! It would be great if more bands were like Vacancy.
