Unseen Plays: We’re so excited to have Ultrabloom with us. When we came across your music we knew we wanted to get to know you more as a band and share your great music. Let’s start by asking the basic questions. Who is Ultrabloom, where are you from, and when did the band come together?
Ultrabloom: Thank you! Well, after meeting at a film festival in London, we started jamming together in June 2022. Surprisingly quickly we had some songs written, a photoshoot planned, and before we knew it we were a three-piece electro pop/rock band called Ultrabloom!
Unseen Plays: What’s your band mission? What do you represent? What types of stories are you trying to tell through your music?
Ultrabloom: Our main goal through music is to be relatable and honest about the difficulties of living in a digital age. We talk about themes from loneliness and growing up struggles to feeling free and having fun with mates!
Unseen Plays: You have just released a single coming out titled “Doomscrolling”. Tell us a bit about the song and what it means to you as a band?
Ultrabloom: Doomscrolling is super exciting for us – it’s our debut single! The song is about how easy it is to aimlessly scroll away hours on your phone, compemes from loneliness and growing up struggles to feeling free and having fun with mates!

Ultrabloom: Doomscrolling is super exciting for us – it’s our debut single! The song is about how easy it is to aimlessly scroll away hours on your phone, comparing yourself to others and living through a screen. It’s something we all struggle with but wish to get better – we hope the song gets through to others too!
Unseen Plays: We tried to find the band online and couldn’t find anything on Spotify or even a website. You guys seem to be coming together. What are the plans for this release? Will we see more online?
Ultrabloom: Yes – we have lots of exciting content lined up! Without giving too much away, we’ve got a handful of tracks and music videos that we’re all super proud of. Keep an eye out, it won’t be long before it’s out there!
Unseen Plays: Tell us about your band name. How did Ultrabloom come about? Any cool story behind the band name?
Ultrabloom: Good question! We love the contrast between the large ‘Ultra’ beside the beautiful’ ‘bloom’. After brainstorming different names, this one really stood out to us.
Unseen Plays: What is something significant you’ve gone through as a band in the past few months and with your debut single?
Ultrabloom: We actually just flew to Tokyo to film a music video for one of our upcoming singles! It was such a beautiful city. We can’t wait to see how the shots turn out.
Unseen Plays: What would be your dream festival or venue to play at as a band? Any you can think of? If not, how about a band to open for?
Ultrabloom: We would LOVE to open for Wolf Alice or The 1975. In terms of venues, Glastonbury would be a dream!
Unseen Plays: What are you trying to get out of your sound? What inspired your band’s sound?
Ultrabloom: We’re still finding our sound as we grow, but we’d love to ace an eighties synthy vibe with bouncy choruses, crisp vocals and rocky tones! Bands that inspire our sound include The Midnight, Wolf Alice and Holly Humberstone.aring yourself to others and living through a screen.
